The most popular activity here is trekking and bird watching. The trek to Rachela Pass via Alubari and Lava is one of the favorites of avid trekkers here. A trek to Rachella Pass, is an ideal one where you can also view the dense untouched areas of Neora Valley Forest and border areas of Bengal, Sikkim and Bhutan. You can also take nature walks to Dalgaon, Gairibas and Rongo to discover the medicinal plants of the area. The jungle walks are ideal to view beautiful birds and butterflies.
From here, you can come down to Chalsa and Lataguri to take car safaris in Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary and Garumara Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also visit nearby Jhalong on the banks of River Jaldhaka. You can catch some fishes at River Jaldhaka. You can plan a picnic with a cook on hire to make some local delicacies with catch of the day.

The famous Jaldhaka River is just 10 kms away and the Hydel Power Station at nearby Bindu is the first Hydel Power station in India bordering India and Bhutan. From here you can catch a glimpse of the picturesque Bhutan hills and its mesmerizing landscape and a rocky, river terrain marked by the confluence of River Bindu and Jaldhaka.
A small village Todey another 09 kms away is a remote destination and the last constituency of Darjeeling. It is also the check out point of Neora Valley National Park. Another similar village Tangta, just 35 kms away, is a hill station, with great views of the hills and jungle around.

How to reach at Paren
New Mal Junction is the nearest rail-head but New Jalpaiguri is the nearest major railway station. Guests need to hire cars from these stations to reach Paren. If you are opting the road, then come to Chalsa and then hire a car to Paren via Jhalong . Bagdogra (IXB) is the nearest airport to Paren.
Best time to visit Paren
Paren can be visited anytime of the year but the nearby jungles stay closed from mid-June to mid-September.
